Bookishish: Starring Doofus and Darling

Welcome back to our monthly comic series, Doofus and Darling. If you had Highlights for Children magazine when you were young, you’ve seen Goofus and Gallant. If not, it probably doesn’t matter anyway.

This here's a two panel comic called Doofus and Darling. The left panel shows Darling sitting idly on a couch, in her right hand is her phone. In her left hand is her chin, resting there as she gazes lovingly upon a tailless round little cat (named Mugshot). She has a book resting on her leg, face down, neglected. The caption says, "Darling wants to read more books, but keeps being easily distracted." The right panel shows Doofus, lying face down in her bed, utterly konked out. There is a book also lying face down, next to her. The caption says, "Doofus wants to read more books, but keeps quickly falling asleep."

Previously, Doofus and Darling were inattentive and neglectful in other ways. But next, they sit as passengers in cars.
