Holidazed and Refused: Starring Doofus and Darling

Welcome back to our monthly comic series, Doofus and Darling. If you had Highlights for Children magazine when you were young, you’ve seen Goofus and Gallant. If not, it probably doesn’t matter anyway.

A two panel comic called Doofus and Darling.

In the left panel, Darling (a girl with asymmetrical hair and striped shirt) is sitting in a chair with Swizzle the Cat on her knee. She is stubbornly looking away from a calendar that has a bif heart on it, meaning Valentines Day. The caption says "Darling doesn't care much for holidays."

The right panel has Doofus, a curly haired girl in glasses and a romper, looking confused at a menorah which sits in front of her. Haircut the Cat is next to her. A calendar in the background shows a turkey, meaning it's still on November, but a flower pot on the window sill shows a healthy flower, meaning Springtime. The caption says "Doofus forgets when they are."

The previous Doofus and Darling comic was about more forgetfulness. And the next one is about more noncompliance with holiday traditions!
