Sneer Signature Party Drinks: Gin Cocktails We Serve at Our Theme Parties

All of our parties are theme parties, because we’re very cool people. And because our friends are cool too, they love it and they dress up and get real into it! For each party we decorate, wear appropriate outfits, give related gifts (if we’re giving gifts out), make a playlist, and serve a signature, themed drink. It is always gin because gin represents Amandoll.

Each of these can be made as mocktails too (we tested them). Add extra lemon-y seltzer in place of any gin in the recipes or you can use a fruit soda like strawberry or orange.

I have no idea how many servings each recipe makes, but I do know it’s Not Enough and you should make a few for a party.

In an outrageously colorful Art Deco design, stark white booze bottle marked X X X and a little shot glass stand out. Words in a box say "drink up, sneer style."

Amandoll’s 1920s Birthday Party: Bee’s Knees Slushie

We combined a recipe we found for a gin drink with a slushie drink to make a very delicious and refreshing way to cool off from all the party dancin’. I believe we also tried a version with white wine instead of seltzer.

Ingredients

  • your preferred gin
  • 6 oz honey or 2/3 honey bear (at most, to taste)
  • lemon juice from 2-3 lemons
  • 10-12 oz crushed pineapple
  • 6 oz grapefruit juice
  • 5 oz white wine (use dry, not sweet)
  • ice

Recipe

  1. Add the honey, lemon juice, pineapple, grapefruit juice, and wine to a blender. Add ice to top.
  2. Crush into a slushie consistency. Keep adding more ice if too watery.
  3. Add 4 oz gin (or more, whatever you want!) to the blender and blend for 2 or 3 seconds

suggested glass: snifter or tumbler
suggested accessory: your reusable straw

A tumbler contains a liquid of some sort as well as Jeremy. He's just in there. This is an illustration, by the way. It says "enjoy" next to it.

Dollissa’s Birthday BBQ: Picnic Infusions

For these drinks I infused some simple syrup ahead of time. To do this, simmer the herb(s) you want to use in a cup or two of water. If you use a lot of the herbs, you can do it for about 20 minutes, but you may want to let it simmer for longer. Then, strain out the herbs, and add equal parts sugar to the water. Bring that to a boil and stir often. Once it starts to thicken, let it cool and pour it into a glass jar.

You can use any herb you like for teas or cooking pretty much. I recommend mints and basils.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 tbsps chocolate mint-infused simple syrup OR whatever you’d like to make
  • seltzer
  • ice
  • 1 oz gin

Recipe

  1. Fill a glass with ice
  2. Add seltzer until it’s halfway full
  3. Add 1 oz of gin
  4. Top off with the syrup of your choice, then mix

A real life photo from a time when Billy Holiday, Amandoll, and Jamie were all together. Amandoll and Jamie sip from tiny plastic cartoonish bear head sippy cups. Billy merely holds his, looking well-pleased with life.
Billy, Amandoll, and Jamie demonstrate the appropriate drinkware, although none of us are drinking alcohol here. We are drinking Cheerwine, which is not wine, it is North Carolina’s native drink.

Holiday Party: Sneer Champagne

For this party we made two versions of our signature drink, one for each of us. We used prosecco in our versions. This is a good one to try to make well before needed, so that it doesn’t involve handing out full glasses of gin when the recipe escapes you halfway through a party.

The Dollissa

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup champagne, prosecco, or cava
  • 1 oz gin
  • 2 oz strawberry soda
  • splash of seltzer
  • 1 tsp mint bitters or syrup
  • mint leaves

The Amandoll

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup champagne, prosecco, or cava
  • 1 oz gin
  • 2 oz orange juice
  • splash of seltzer
  • 1 tsp grenadine
  • lemon or lime slice

Recipe

  1. Fill a glass halfway with champagne, prosecco, or cava
  2. Add gin and soda or juice, mix
  3. Top with the remaining ingredients before serving

suggested glass: champagne flute
suggested accessory: all of your friends
