Sickening Developments: Starring Doofus and Darling

Welcome back to our monthly comic series, Doofus and Darling. If you had Highlights for Children magazine when you were young, you’ve seen Goofus and Gallant. If not, it probably doesn’t matter anyway.

Doofus and Darling, a two panel comic. On the left, you see Doofus curled up in blankets on her bed, Custard the Calico cat indifferently looking out of the window behind her. Doofus' bed is strewn with dirty kleenex and a kleenex box and laptop. She looks miserable and sweaty. Caption: When doofus is ill, she is frail and sleeps it off for as many days as necessary. On the right, you see Darling, in bed, sitting up, weeping, looking dazed. She has a Will on her lap. Zesta is next to her watching the Simpsons on a laptop on a chair next to the bed. Caption: When Darling is ill she sits, dazed, and waits for the inevitable release of death.
